Practice freely • Keep 2 pieces • We glaze for you
Curious about trying the pottery wheel?
Join us at Cone 7 for a relaxed and hands-on 3 hour introduction to wheel throwing. This session is designed for complete beginners and gives you a real feel for working with clay on the wheel.
You will learn how to centre clay and throw simple cylinders — the foundation for cups, bowls and small vases.
During the class, you can practice and make as many pieces as you like. At the end of the evening, you choose up to two pieces to keep. We glaze them with a transparent glossy glaze and take care of both firings for you.
What to expect
Throwing takes time, patience and repetition. Some participants make two pieces, some make one — and that is completely normal.
Please do not be harsh on yourself. The goal is to explore, learn something new and enjoy the process.
There is something very special about feeling clay move between your hands for the first time.
Included
• 3 hour guided session
• All clay and tools
• Transparent glaze
• Bisque and glaze firing (for two selected pieces)
• 20 minutes of shared cleaning time at the end of the session
