Souf Alon is a Bergen based ceramic artist, holding a Master's in fine art from the KMD academy (2024) and a bachelor of Ceramics Art & Design from Bezalel academy (2020). During her studies she got to explore different traditions of clay and pottery, in an exchange in Tokyo University of the Arts, internship with a traditional potter in the countryside of Japan, and in a research program in Makerere university, Kampala and East Africa’s cost. In her practice, Souf focuses on the tension between the material and the craft while referring to historical links and the ongoing dialogue between body and clay. Her working methods are driven by the desire to reimagine her relationship with the material, combining theoretical disciplines with a range of practical approaches. Souf uses clay as her main tool of expression, often interweaving it in other mediums that are vital to her practice, such as analogue photography, performance and video.
